Harness Trainer
What kind of harness is best?
My dog and I have been working on heel training for a while and he still continues to pull when he sees something exciting. He does not respond to a collar and I will not use a choke collar on him. We have been using a regular harness since we got him and it has worked great, however, recently he has started pulling more on it and it actually is rubbing a red spot into his chest.
Any recommendations on other types of harness that have worked?
My dog trainer recommended sewing fabric onto his current harness to give him a little more comfort.
I understand that prong collars work for some dogs however, I cannot use one on my dog because any negative response and he completely shuts down.
I’d make sure the harrness is off when the dog is not in training. Beyond that, it does just take time. I would never use a prong collar on my dog! It teaches the dog by using pain.
